Cold generation

LuxEnergie uses 2 different types of refrigeration units to supply cold:

- Compression refrigeration machine

This process uses electricity as its main source of energy. The chemical properties of the cooling agent ammonia make it ideal as it does not damage the ozone layer or contribute to the greenhouse effect.

- Absorption refrigeration machine

The absorption refrigeration machine requires a low amount of electricity and heat as its main source of energy. This process uses the thermal and physical properties of a water-salt solution. The use of the CHP’s heat in absorption refrigeration machines leads to higher efficiency and good utilization of the primary energy.
